LifeExpiry Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how the LifeExpiry app ("we", "us", "the app") handles your data.
1. Data We Collect
None. LifeExpiry does not collect, transmit, or share any user data with our servers or any third party. The app contains no advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs, and the release build does not request the Internet permission.
2. Data You Store on Your Device
Everything you enter into the app is stored locally on your device using an internal database (SQLite) and app preference storage. This includes:
- Item names
- Item categories
- Expiry dates
- Reminder settings and app preferences
- Item usage/waste statistics
This data never leaves your device unless you export it yourself using the "Export Data" feature (which creates a backup file and opens it through the system share sheet, entirely under your control).
3. Device Permissions
- Notifications & Exact Alarms: required to show scheduled expiry reminders.
- Camera: used only on-device to scan barcodes when adding an item. Camera images are never stored or transmitted.
- Vibrate / Boot Completed: required to reschedule reminders after the device restarts.
4. Data Security
Because your data is stored locally, its security depends on the security of your device. We recommend keeping your device protected against unauthorized access.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
We do not store your data on any server, so there is no retention period on our side. You have full control:
- Delete items one by one within the app.
- Delete all data via System Settings > Apps > LifeExpiry > Storage > Clear Data.
- Uninstalling the app automatically deletes all local data associated with LifeExpiry.
6. Children's Policy
This app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not collect personal information from anyone.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect as soon as they are published on this page.
